What are the most common code violations?

Common code violations include:

  • Exterior Property Maintenance - Property must be maintained and in good condition.
  • Fence Maintenance - Fences must be maintained and in good condition.
  • High Weeds and Grass - On entire property including sidewalk, and alley; over 12 inches.
  • Inoperative/Junk Vehicles - May not be stored in public view.
  • Overgrown Trees or Vegetation - Foliage of hedges, trees, and shrubs in public rights-of-way shall be maintained by the property owner adjacent to the right-of-way, such that the minimum overhang above a sidewalk shall be seven (7) feet. The minimum overhang above a street, alley, or public driveway shall be fourteen (14) feet. 
  • Parking on Unapproved Surface - Vehicles must be parked on approved concrete surfaces.
  • Residential Outside Storage - Items may not be stored on property in public view.
