[ARCHIVED] Alex Hargis, Manager of the Coppell Arts Center, Announces Resignation

Alex Hargis, who has served the community as the Coppell Arts Center’s Manager since January 2019, has announced his resignation as of September 20, 2021. Hargis has accepted a position as a Principal with TheatreDNA, one of the leading theatre consulting firms in the nation. Ginene Delcioppo, the Art Center’s Marketing and Ticketing Supervisor, has been selected to serve as Interim Manager.

“It was a privilege to lead a project from design to first curtain call, but my greatest honor was in the quiet moments of getting to know the individuals of this community and to see their dreams realized in this venue,” said Hargis. “I cannot thank my team and leadership enough for their faith to undertake such a project and their unprecedented resiliency to see it finished despite the COVID-19 pandemic. I look forward to my next chapter with TheatreDNA that will allow me to spend more time with my family and to utilize my industry experience to help others open their venues.”

Under Hargis’s leadership, the vision for the Coppell Arts Center truly took shape. From overseeing the construction of the facility to facilitating the formation of the Arts Center Foundation to booking performers for the Center’s inaugural presenting series, Hargis has been integral in the establishment of the state-of-the-art community gathering space.

“We are so grateful for Alex’s hard work, dedication to the community and passion for the arts,” said City Manager Mike Land. “The Coppell Arts Center was a long time coming, and Alex’s commitment to creating a quality arts venue brought the community’s vision to life.”

The Coppell Arts Center celebrated its official grand opening with the Takeoff Arts and Music Festival in early September. The Center fulfills a commitment to Coppell residents to enrich offerings and enhance the quality of life in the community. The facility provides a much-needed home to local artists and talent, while also presenting the community with a local venue to attend traveling shows.
