Wildflower Scavenger Hunt

Now through Tuesday, June 1

The race is on! Go on nature’s ultimate scavenger hunt for wildflowers. Spring is wildflower season, and each species has a turn in the spotlight. Visit Coppell Nature Park each week to discover what’s in bloom. Print off a list of native North Texas Wildflowers from the BEC website. Then complete your list by uploading photos to iNaturalist and receive a Texas native wildflower seed pack prize! Don’t forget to go on one of many naturalist-led hikes this spring for extra help. The deadline is June 1.

Virtual Hang Teen: Tails of Equestria

Make & Take Saturday Children’s Crafts

How about a fun, creative start to your weekend? Bring your family to the Coppell Arts Center one Saturday each month for free make-and-take craft workshops. Stop by between 9 am and Noon to create your craft. For children ages 3-12 accompanied by an adult.



Amazing Animals Trail Day

April 5 |   2 – 4 pm   |   Biodiversity Education Center

Journey through the Animal Kingdom! Each type of animal has a unique story to tell by its characteristics, adaptations, and ecological roles.  Discover some of the insects, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals that live in Coppell Nature Park. Trail Days are designed for families and youth ages 3-14. Drop in during open hours to learn about a theme in nature by exploring various activity stations on the trails of Coppell Nature Park. Maps are provided and station locations allow social distancing. Please arrive with enough time to complete activities before the close time. This program is FREE of charge and registration is not required.

Coppell Women’s Club General Meeting

April 7  |   10 am   |   Coppell Arts Center Reception Hall

The Coppell Women’s Club April monthly meeting is gearing up to be a true celebration for more reasons than one! They will launch our first in-person meeting at the beautiful Coppell Arts Center Reception Hall in Old Town Coppell. They are excited to hold our April meeting at such a lovely venue with bonus tours of the facility. 

The Arts Center has been hosting events for several months now and are committed to keeping tables and room set-up in compliance with social distancing practices. In addition, they request that everyone wear their mask at all times except when seated at your table. As the first in-person event this year, members are asked not bring guests to this meeting. This will allow them to limit the number of people without impacting member attendance. And note, the Coppell Women’s Club will not have a formal "meet and mingle" thirty minutes prior as in past in-person meetings. However, feel free to come a few minutes early and reconnect with members, preferable outside, weather permitting (again, please wear your mask).

Impact of COVID-19 on Coppell:  Faith Leaders Reflections (Virtual)

The Coppell Allies in Faith & Community Builders invite you to join various faith leaders who will reflect on the impact of COVID on their congregations and the community at large. Each faith leader will share how their congregation was impacted during the past year and how it changed many aspects of the way we live and pray. Faith leaders include Imam Abdullah Oduro, Islamic Center of Coppell; Rabbi Adam Roffman, Congregation Shearith Israel; Mrs. Carla Sperandeo, Bahá'í faith; Mr. Ashok Dandekar, Hindu faith; and a representative of St. Ann's Catholic Parish. The 9th Annual Mercy Run

Celebrate National Siblings Day by participating in the 9th Annual Mercy Run 5k/10k/FunRun is a celebration of Life! The race celebrates the lives of children who have passed and their surviving siblings (young and old) by running/walking an energizing loop, or two, around the course. Please register for the Mercy Run online and send any questions via the Mercy Run email. The race benefits the Team Mercy organization.

Adult CPR-AED

April 10  |   9 am – Noon   |   Life Safety Park

CPR AED is an instructor-led course that teaches critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency situation until emergency medical services arrives. Skills covered in this course include first aid, choking relief, and what to do for sudden cardiac arrest in adults, children, and infants. There is no minimum age requirement for this class; however, all registrants need to be capable of comprehending the material and participating in the activities. In general, this class suits ages 15+. Registration is required for CPR, and can be found by visiting our website at LifeSafetyPark.org.

Virtual Easy Gardening with Native Plants

Learn how to have a lovely landscape by using native plants that require minimal irrigation, fertilizer, and pesticides while attracting a wide variety of butterflies, birds, bees, beneficial insects, and other critters to your yard. The Watters

The Watters honed their one-of-a-kind sound wandering around the country and soaking up their habitats. Born and raised in Sedona, The Watters developed their eclectic sound after living in several dramatically different cities, including Los Angeles, Denver, Nashville, and now Austin. Seamlessly blending Americana, Soul, Rock, and Jazz, they have been described as “Fleetwood Mac with a horn section.” Tickets are $15. FCNP: Getting Started with iNaturalist

Join the Friends of Coppell Nature Park on the back deck of the BEC for an introduction to Citizen Science, iNaturalist and the City Nature Challenge in preparation of the annual bioblitz and our City Nature Challenge Trail Day. This introductory course will be followed by practicing using the iNaturalist app in the Coppell Nature Park. This program is FREE of charge and registration is required for each participant. Farewell Angelina

Document Shredding

April 24 |   8 am – Noon   |   Coppell Service Center (816 S. Coppell Road)

Have your documents safely shredded and recycled by PROSHRED! Bring up to four boxes (maximum size of each box is 9" x 12" x 17", or the size of a bankers box) to the Coppell Service Center, 816 S. Coppell Road, between the hours of 8 am and noon. All shredded paper will be recycled, and your container will be returned to your trunk or backseat. Residents are encouraged to come early to ensure space in the truck for their documents.

Createria Studios Adult Art Class

April 28  |  6 – 8 pm  |  Coppell Arts Center

One Wednesday a month, friends can creatively unwind and have fun with Kate Shema of Createria Studios and partake in a unique art project that can be taken home at the end of the night. Our April class will cover paper tags and pockets with colorful mono prints to make a mini art journal. All participants will get to take home their artwork. Virtual Japanese Inspired Snacks

Learn to make three delicious snacks inspired by Japanese cooking- green tea mochi, yaki onigiri, and dorayaki. You will also get tips on where to find supplies and how to learn more about Japanese cooking and culture. This is a watch and learn class so bring something to take notes. Recipes will be provided digitally after registration closes. While this class is designed primarily for adults, teens age 13 and up are welcome to join. For teens and adults aged 13 and up. Virtual Run to Fund

May 1 - 8  |  Coppell ISD Education Foundation

The Coppell ISD Education Foundation invites you to join us for our Virtual Run to Fund! This Coppell community-based 5K event will be a week full of fun activities and prizes. You can run or walk it anywhere — on a treadmill, at your favorite park, in your neighborhood, or on one of our special course suggestions (coming soon!). We are excited to cap Race Week off with a fun, drive thru "Finish Line" Experience form 10 am - 2 pm, May 8, at Coppell High School.

Registration is now open so register on the Run to Fund website today. CEF will give $2 to the Physical Education Department at the CISD school of your choice for every registration. All funds raised will benefit CISD classroom and teacher grants awarded by CEF every year.

The Defenders of Freedom’s 16th Annual Golf Outing will be held on May 17th. This 2 course event has sold out year after year. Golfing on The Tribute and Old American Golf Courses our supporters are offered the opportunity for a day of unforgettable fun and an incredible opportunity to connect with the Veterans served by Defenders of Freedom. Build your team of three golfers and we will fill the fourth space with one of our Veterans. Registration and the start are at The Tribute: 1000 Lebanon Road, The Colony, TX 75056 Registration Options: Three golfers with a service member added to your team is $600. Four golfers without a service member is $600. A single entry registration is $200. Payment is due with registration by May 3. Register on the Defenders of Freedom website.
