EcoExplorer
July 1 - 29 | 9 am – Noon Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday | Biodiversity Education Center
Drop by during visiting hours every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday to learn about the Biodiversity Education Center, Coppell Nature Park, and the seasonal programs offered. While you’re there, learn about the local environment through self-guided activities and interactive resources. Then, take what you learn out on the trails to become true EcoExplorers!
Wild by Nature
July 5 – 26 | 10 am – Noon Wednesdays | Biodiversity Education Center
Drop in each week to explore interactive learning stations inside the Biodiversity Education Hall. Plan to arrive with enough time to complete activities before the program end time. No registration required. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The theme changes weekly.
FCNP Guided Hike - Saturday

Join the Friends of Coppell Nature Park for a guided hike to discover the wonders of our local ecosystem. Hikers are asked to wear protective clothing and bring a water bottle. Registration is required for each participant. Children must be supervised by an adult caregiver.
Saturday Make & Take Crafts
July 1 | 9 am | Coppell Arts Center – The Mr. Copper Group Lobby Gallery
How about a fun, creative start to your weekend? Bring your family to the Coppell Arts Center located in Old Town Coppell one Saturday each month for free make-and-take craft workshops. Stop by anytime between 9 am - noon to create your craft. Kids will receive a do-it-yourself craft kit that they can assemble and customize at art stations inside the Coppell Arts Center. A parent must accompany all children at all times.
Independence Day at Heritage Park
Saturday, July 1 | 10 am - 1 pm | Coppell Heritage Park, 700 S. Coppell Rd.
Before you head over to Andrew Brown East for Celebrate Coppell: Party in the Park, stop by Heritage Park for outdoor games, prizes, American flags for the children, and snow cones. At 11:30 am, visitors will be introduced to the meaning of Independence Day, followed by the singing of our National Anthem and presentation of the American Flag by local Boy Scouts. Bring your friends and neighbors for a tour of each of the houses and a visit to the Minyard's Grocery Store Museum & Gift Shop. Visit coppellhistoricalsociety.org for more information.

The family home of John M. And Edna Jeanette Kirkland and their children Hubert, Lois, Sallie, Jewel (Jack), Stringfellow, Louise, Carroll, and one who died in infancy, was built in 1904. It was moved from its original location 474 feet due west and restored in 2011 by the Jean and Price Daniel Foundation, the Coppell Historical Society, and the City of Coppell.

Have you ever considered light as a source of pollution? Dr. Karen McGraw is a Texas Master Naturalist and Outreach Coordinator for the Texas chapter of the International Dark-Sky Association who is passionate about the reduction of light pollution and conserving dark skies for humans and wildlife. Participants will gain new awareness about lighting practices that enable nighttime activities while minimizing the negative effects of artificial light at night. Registration is required.

With the help of a hunchbacked sidekick named Igor and lab assistant Inga, Frederick finds himself following in the mad-scientist tradition of his ancestor, creating a monster for this century. When the monster escapes, hilarity abounds. This show is rated PG-13 due to adult content. It is not recommended for children.
