EcoExplorer
February 2 - 28 | 9 am – Noon Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday | Biodiversity Education Center
Drop in during visiting hours every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday to learn about the Biodiversity Education Center, Coppell Nature Park, and the seasonal programs offered. While you’re there, learn about the local environment through self-guided activities and interactive resources. Then, take what you learn out on the trails to become true EcoExplorers! Themes last two weeks and will be posted on the BEC Facebook page.
Saturday Make & Take Crafts
February 4 | 9 am | Coppell Arts Center – The Mr. Copper Group Lobby Gallery
How about a fun, creative start to your weekend? Bring your family to the Coppell Arts Center located in Old Town Coppell one Saturday each month for free make-and-take craft workshops. Stop by anytime 9 am - noon to create your craft. Kids will receive a do-it-yourself craft kit that they can assemble and customize at art stations inside the Coppell Arts Center. A parent must accompany all children at all times.

Free Heritage Park tours and the Minyard Store at Coppell Heritage Park are open to the public on Saturdays of most months from 10 am - noon. The Old Minyard Store will have old-fashioned candy and postcards of historic Coppell for sale.
Nature’s Workshop: Rainbow Scope
February 8 | 10 – 11 am | Biodiversity Education Center
Expand your passion for learning about nature by creating a craft. This month we will create a rainbow scope. Registration is required. For ages 6 – 8.
Exploring Nature Series: Streamside Science
February 9 | 9 am – Noon | Biodiversity Education Center
This series features an interactive lesson inside the Biodiversity Education Center followed by field investigation at Coppell Nature Park giving learners a deeper appreciation and understanding of Texas' ecosystems. Through hands-on explorations and outdoor adventures, learners gain the knowledge and skills to become lovers of nature and responsible stewards of the environment. A different learning theme is offered each month during the school year. Sign up for each theme according to your interest and/or availability. Participants should bring a water bottle and wear protective clothing for outdoor activity. Parents must sign child(ren) in and out upon drop-off and pick-up. Registration is required. For ages 9 – 12.
Coppell Lions Club – 36th Annual Pancake Breakfast
February 11 | 8 – 11:30 am | First United Methodist Church – Smart Hall / North Entrance
The Coppell Lions club is continuing tradition by having their 36th Annual Pancake Breakfast for all to enjoy. If you are interested in joining the event, contact any Coppell Lions Club member. Tickets cost $5 per person or $20 for a family. Gluten Free pancakes can be requested. All proceeds at the event benefit Coppell Lions Club who have been serving the community of Coppell since 1983.
FCNP Geology of Coppell Nature Park

Paul Dolliver, Associate Instructor at Dallas College, shares fascinating insights into the geology found under our feet in Coppell Nature Park! Catch a glimpse of prehistoric life while hunting and examining fossils along Cottonwood Creek. Registration is required. For ages 12+.

This Tony award-winning classic comedy centers around uptight, neat Felix Ungar and easygoing, disheveled Oscar Madison as new roommates. Neil Simon's classic 1965 comedy has at its heart, a story of individuals trying to connect through their differences and trying to make their way through difficult times. Hikers are asked to wear protective clothing and bring a water bottle. This program is hosted by the Friends of Coppell Nature Park FREE of charge. Registration is required. Open to all ages.

Texas Parks & Wildlife Fly Fishing
February 25 | 9 am – 2 pm | Biodiversity Education Center
Join Dallas Fly Fishers for an introduction to fly fishing. Learn how to cast, tie basic fishing knots, tie flies, and discuss their uses. Participants will review equipment, learn about aquatic ecosystems, safety, ethics, regulations, and fishing skills. All equipment and materials are provided. Participants receive a TPWD basic fly fishing certificate. Children must be supervised by an adult chaperone, and registration is required for all participants. This program is FREE of charge and space is limited. For ages 12+.
