The City of Coppell encourages all residents to shop small! This holiday season, make the commitment to support local retailers and join the City of Coppell for Small Business Saturday on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, November 26.
“It has always been true that you support the community by shopping at local businesses, but that has been more apparent than ever these last few years,” said Mindi Hurley, Director of Community Development. “When you shop at our local stores, you truly have an impact on Coppell families. The dollars you spend at our small businesses really do make a big difference in helping these locally owned shops succeed.”
When community members shop locally, a portion of the sales tax collected is returned to the City of Coppell, which allows the City to fund multiple programs and amenities that can be enjoyed by the community at large.
“When you support Coppell businesses, you’re investing in the community,” Hurley stated. “You get to meet your neighbors, discover interesting stores, and purchase one-of-a-kind items. When you shop locally, you help ensure that our economy remains strong and our workforce thrives. If every resident in Coppell were to spend $25 at a local business on Small Business Saturday, it would infuse $1.08 million into our local economy!”
