Tax 2017C Cambria Drive & Wise Way

A design contract for the reconstruction of Cambria Drive and the Wise Way connection was awarded to Criado and Associates, Inc. in the Spring of 2019. The project consists of:

  • Complete pavement reconstruction
  • Utility upgrades
  • Storm drain improvements

Bid Awarded

The project was awarded to Quality Excavation, LLC. for a total contract amount of $1,086,996. Construction began in the Spring of 2021 and is anticipated to complete in the Fall of 2021.

Latest Update

Pre-construction meeting was held on 03-30-2021. The project began the week of 04-19-2021 and will be limited to one-way traffic that is westbound for the duration of the project. Utility installations are complete. Paving work is in progress.

Tax 2015B Plantation Drive & Mossy Oaks Street Reconstruction Project

A design contract for the reconstruction of Plantation Drive & Mossy Oaks Street was awarded to Pape-Dawson Engineers in the Winter of 2016. The project includes:

  • Complete pavement reconstruction
  • Utility upgrades
  • Sidewalk improvements

Bid Awarded

The project was awarded to DDM Construction Corp. for a total contract amount of $5,457,827.90. Construction began in the Summer of 2021 and is anticipated to complete in the Spring of 2022. 

Latest Update

Pre-construction meeting was held on 06-03-2021. Construction began the week of 6-21-2021 and utility installations are underway.

Tax 2020 Denton Tap Road Intersection Improvements

A design contract for the reconstruction of four intersections along Denton Tap Road was awarded to Kimley-Horn in the Summer of 2019. Those four intersections are:  Parkway,  Southwestern,  Sandy Lake,  and  Bethel School. The project consists of:

  • Construction of turn lanes
  • Reconstruction of sidewalks and ramps
  • Traffic signal work

Bid Awarded

The project was awarded to Rebcon Inc. for a total contract amount of $2,777,148.70. Construction began in the Spring of 2021 and is anticipated to complete in the Spring of 2022.

Latest Update

Pre-construction meeting was held on 04-15-2021. The project began on 04-19-2021. The turn lane at Denton Tap/Southwestern is currently being worked on and is about 70% complete and signal work is in progress. Work has begun on Denton Tap/Parkway and turn lanes/signal work are in progress.

Tax 2018A Spanish Moss Drive & Jeb Court

A design contract for the reconstruction of Spanish Moss Drive and Jeb Court was awarded to Huitt Zollars, Inc. in the Summer of 2019. The project consists of complete pavement reconstruction, utility upgrades, and sidewalk improvements. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2023. 

Tax 2019B Southwestern Boulevard

A design contract for the reconstruction of Southwestern Blvd was awarded to Kirkman Engineering in the Fall of 2020 in the amount of $202,700. The project consists of pavement reconstruction, utility upgrades, sidewalk improvements, and drainage improvements. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2023.

Tax 2019C Woodhurst Drive

A design contract for the reconstruction of Woodhurst Drive was awarded to Westra Consultants in the Fall of 2020 in the amount of $359,500. The project consists of pavement reconstruction, utility upgrades, sidewalk improvements, and drainage improvements. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2024.

Sidewalk Repair Process

  1. The damaged sidewalk is demolished and removed
  2. The ground is compacted and prepared
  3. Wood forms are set and rebar is placed
  4. Concrete is poured and cures/dries typically 24 to 72 hours
  5. Control joints are saw-cut and sealant is applied to expansion joints, if any
