It's the spooky season and the City of Coppell is getting into the spirit by offering a number of Halloween themed events throughout October. Check out the list below and mark your calendars!

Trick or Treat on the Trails
Friday, October 28 | 5 - 7 pm
The BEC is excited to offer a special annual treat — Trick-or-Treat on the Trails! Remember to dress up in your costume and to bring your goody bag!
No registration required. Stations will be along the paved path running through Coppell Nature Park to offer plenty of space. Follow the one-way arrows on the path to visit each station. This is a Teal Pumpkin friendly event.
Scary Myth Busters EcoExplorer
Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, October 18, 20, 22, 25, 27, 29 | 9 am - Noon
The Biodiversity Education Center is busting myths about things in nature that might be scary. We'll uncover the origin of myths and dispel them by revealing fascinating (and sometimes beneficial) characteristics of the creatures behind them! Drop in during visiting hours 9 am - noon to learn about the BEC, Coppell Nature Park, and the seasonal programs offered.
While you're here, learn about the local environment through self-guided activities and interactive resources. Then, take what you learn out on the trails to become true EcoExplorers!
Storytime at the BEC
Monday, October 31 | 10 am
Join the staff of the BEC for Storytime! Gather at the Nature Explore play area at 10 am for story time! Feel free to bring a blanket to sit on. This storytime we will be feature a book about skeletons called “Bonaparte Falls Apart.”
Outdoor Halloween Storytime
Tuesday, October 25 | 6:30 – 7:30 pm
Town Center Plaza | 255 Parkway Blvd.
Put on your Halloween costumes and join us outside in the plaza for stories, games, treats, and a spooktacular time! The Friends of the Library will also be handing out Halloween goodies.
This program is designed for families with young children. All ages are welcome. Town Center Plaza is located behind the library. We will be by the Storybook Walk, near the YMCA.
In the event of adverse weather, the program will be moved to the Library Meeting Room.
Teen Craft – Spooky Terrarium
Thursday, October 20 | 5:30 – 6:30pm
Cozby Library and Community Commons | 177 N. Heartz Dr.
If you love Halloween, like spooky things, and want to try your hand at gardening then join us for a Teen craft evening! During this event we will be creating spooky terrariums. Supplies are limited, so registration is encouraged but not required. Included supplies are terrarium jars, live plants, spooky decorations, soil, and rocks.
This program is open to teens in grades 6 – 12. Registration is preferred but not required.
Friends of the Coppell Public Library Pumpkin Giveaway
Saturday, October 29 | 8 am – Noon
Coppell Farmers Market | 768 W. Main St.
The Friends of the Coppell Public Library will be at the Coppell Farmers Market on Saturday, October 29 for their annual pumpkin giveaway! We'll have mini pumpkins and jack-o-lantern stickers to decorate them with!
We will also have a Mystery Book Bag Pop-up Sale! For a minimum $1 donation, receive a Mystery Book Bag containing 2 – 5 books in excellent condition. There will also be additional goodies on hand for anybody who visits.
The Friends of the Coppell Public Library is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that enhances the library experience by creating public awareness, fostering community spirit, and providing materials and events for Cozby Library and Community Commons that benefit our community.
Get Pumpkined by The CORE!
No tricks, just treats! Experience Halloween fun delivered and hidden right in your front yard for the kiddos to find! During your selected delivery time, staff members from The CORE will deliver two dozen mini pumpkins filled with candy to your front yard. For an additional fee, you can also receive a pumpkin bucket with more candy, crafts and prizes! Participants will have the option to return their pumpkins to The CORE between October 31 - November 6 for a refund of $0.50 per pumpkin.

Trunk or Treat
Saturday, October 29 | 6 – 8 pm
The CORE | 234 E. Parkway Blvd.
Come join our fun, safe, interactive Trunk or Treat! Let your creativity flow, as you decorate your car trunk (or truck) at our fall event. Our guests will be toddlers and grade schoolers, so keep things light-hearted and family friendly. The cost to register is free and a contest will be held for the best decorated car to win a grand prize! We encourage residents, community organizations, schools, business owners, and families to enter. All participants should be prepared for around 1,000 children. All candy must be pre-packaged and unopened. We are excited to see your creative Halloween spirit!
After registering your car, you will receive an email with more details and guidelines for event. Register your trunk online.
