Greening Facilities

With more than 24 buildings, the City of Coppell can make a considerable difference in environmental impacts and cost savings by greening the operations and maintenance of the city facilities.  The Facility Management Division has made improvements by focusing on energy efficiency initiatives, such as lighting retrofits, H/VAC upgrades, and window and door replacements.  Public reporting of the total metered energy use for all city operations can be viewed here.

There has also been improvements on indoor air quality with greener cleaning products and low voc materials.  Recycling of paper, bottles, and cans has been implemented at all city facilities, along with printer cartridges, rechargeable batteries, and fluorescent bulbs.

The Grapevine Springs Senior and Community Center was the first city facility built with green building standards and is certified LEED SILVER in 2011.
